Shaykh Muhammad Azam Thattvi

Shaykh Muhammad Azam Ibn Muhammad Shafi Thattvi was a scholar, a Sufi and a historian. Little is known about his life as no other biographical work has mentioned him. He lived in the 12th century Hijri and died in the early 13th century Hijri. He was a Sufi disciple of Maulana Khair al-Din Naqshbandi of Surat, India.

Shaykh Azam is the author of two books, Tuhfat al-Tahireen which contains brief biographical sketches of some Sufis of Sindh, and Hai'at al-Alam on cosmology and geography.
